PARKMORE – BUNURONG COUNTRY

We acknowledge the Bunurong people who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Parkmore resides.
We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging for they hold the memories, the traditions, the cultures and hopes of Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Parkmore Shopping Centre rests on the traditional land of the Bunurong people, who are recognised as one of the five language groups of the Kulin Nation.
The Kulin Nation’s collective territory extends around Port Phillip and Western Port, up into the Great Dividing Range and the Loddon and Goulburn River valleys.
These five groups who traditionally lived on this country were connected through shared moiety totems: Bunjil the wedge tailed eagle, and Waa the crow.

Today many First Nations Australians live and work in the Kulin Nation, that we now recognise as the greater Melbourne region.
Parkmore Shopping Centre extends a warm welcome to all First Nations people and we pay our respect to their continuing connection to land, water and community.
